BertDOWELLFond memories of the many occasions we sat together in the Kirkby/ Huyton Courts in the 1990's. I sat with Bert on his final sitting in the 2000's and at the end of the sitting and to the surprise of the court staff and advocates he announced his retirement.
They had great respect for his wisdom and integrity, there is BBC news footage, used in documentaries of Bert, with the then Lord Lieutenant greeting the late Princes Of Wales on her visit to Merseyside on the day her separation was announced in 1992.
